Sugaring
Sugaring is a gentle hair removal method where the sugar paste removes hair from the root. Sugaring also exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells, leaving the skin silky smooth. The sugar paste is applied against the direction of hair growth and removed with the hair growth, preventing hair breakage.
With regular sugaring, hair grows back soft and fine, and hair growth decreases. Removing hair during its growth phase weakens the hair follicle, which over time results in the area no longer growing hair.
The recommended sugaring interval is 3-4 weeks, but hair growth is individual, and for example, underarm hair grows faster for many than leg hair. After sugaring, it’s important to exfoliate the skin regularly, about twice a week, and to remember to moisturize the skin, especially during the summer, and stay hydrated. This helps prevent ingrown hairs and possible folliculitis, and the healthier the skin, the less painful sugaring will be.
If you experience folliculitis, we recommend the PFB roll-on product, which is specifically designed for this condition. The product can be purchased at the salon.
Since hair grows in different stages, it may take about 3-4 sugaring sessions to achieve optimal results when starting sugaring treatments.
Before coming for sugaring:
- If it’s your first time, it’s best if the hair is about 0.5cm-1cm long, and it should have been at least 14 days since your last shave. Generally, if the hair is long enough to grab with your fingers and pull, it will come off with sugaring.
- Hair can never be too long for sugaring, but it may be too short at first. Long hair may cause issues during the application stage, so you can trim the hair to an appropriate length before coming.
- Start regular exfoliating and moisturizing in advance, but make sure that your last exfoliation is 48 hours before your sugaring session. On the day of sugaring, avoid applying moisturizer.
- Please note that medications containing Vitamin A (e.g., Roaccutan) are a contraindication for sugaring as they thin the skin.
After sugaring:
- For the next 24-48 hours, avoid the following: swimming, saunas, and sweaty exercise. This helps prevent folliculitis and skin irritation. Wait at least 24 hours before applying self-tanner.
- If your underarms have been sugared, avoid using deodorant for 12 hours.
- If your face has been sugared, avoid makeup for 12 hours.
- Since sugaring also exfoliates the skin, avoid exfoliating your skin for 48 hours after sugaring.
- Remember to exfoliate and moisturize your skin regularly ❤
Lash lift

Lash lift
Lash lift, or eyelash perming, gives lashes curl and definition, bringing out their full potential. The service also includes lash tinting, which adds intensity to the gaze.
The duration of the curl is individual and is influenced by factors like the use of lash serums and the natural hair growth cycle. On average, the curl lasts for about 4-6 weeks and grows out with the lashes. The treatment is recommended every 6-8 weeks to allow the lashes to fully renew before the next session. This service is for those who want natural yet dramatic lashes and a break from the stress of frequent touch-ups.
The desired curl is achieved by selecting the appropriate silicone mold for the client. The mold is placed on the eyelid, and the lashes are curled and treated with perming solutions, followed by tinting and the application of a nourishing serum.
After a lash lift, the lashes should not be wet for a few hours to allow the serum to fully work. It’s also recommended to use lash serums designed for post-lift care at home. Washing the lashes won’t affect the result, though initially, it may appear that the lashes have straightened, but they will return to their curled shape once dry.
It’s recommended not to use oil-based makeup removers, as they may weaken the longevity of the lash lift.
Contraindications:
We do not recommend lash lifts during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to insufficient research on the subject.
If you have previously had an allergic reaction to a lash lift, the service cannot be performed.
If you are allergic to tinting products, the service can still be performed without tinting the lashes.
If you have an eye infection or have been off medication for less than a week.

Brow Lift
Brow lift, or eyebrow lamination, involves shaping the eyebrows so that they become easier to manage, and shaping them into the desired position becomes simpler. After the treatment, the client can use a spoolie brush to style the brows into the desired shape. The brows will appear fuller and more defined.
In brow lift, the brows are also shaped using sugar and tweezers. Since the lamination products slightly lighten the natural color of the brows, it is recommended to tint the brows during the lamination treatment, with the desired color chosen in consultation with the client based on their preferences.
The duration of the brow lift is individual and depends on factors such as the use of brow serums and the client’s natural hair growth cycle. On average, the lamination lasts for 3-5 weeks, and it is recommended to repeat the treatment every 6-8 weeks. Lamination does not fade away; it grows out as the eyebrow hairs renew.
After a brow lift, the brows should not be wet for a few hours to allow the nourishing serum to fully work. It is also recommended to treat the brows with the appropriate serums at home after the treatment. Washing the brows will not affect the result.
Contraindications:
We do not recommend brow lifts during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to insufficient research on the subject.
If you have previously had an allergic reaction to brow lift, the service cannot be performed.
If you are allergic to tinting products, the service can still be performed without tinting the brows.
If you have wounds or eczema in the brow area.

Spray tan
Spray tanning is a safe way to get a beautifully even tan without the harmful effects of the sun. In spray tanning, a fine mist of tanning solution is sprayed onto the skin, and upon contact, it reacts and begins to create a tan.
The shade of the spray tan is chosen together with the client based on their wishes and preferences:
- Are you preparing for a special event such as a party, vacation, wedding, or just because? -> If it’s a wedding, what is your partner’s skin tone?
- Are you aiming for a light tan or a darker tan?
- How do you tan in the sun, do you burn easily?
The final color develops relative to the client’s own skin pigment and tanning tendency.
Initially, the color may appear darker on the skin, but this is the guide color that washes off in the first shower. This is just a cosmetic addition to the solution so that the tanner can see where the solution has been applied. The tan is at its best 48 hours after application, when it has fully set on the skin. The tan lasts for about a week before it starts to fade evenly, as long as the aftercare instructions are followed.
For the spray tan, we provide disposable thong underwear, a hair protection cap, and sticky feet to protect the soles of your feet. You may also choose to wear your own underwear. Before the spray tan, hands, elbows, and knees are protected with a barrier cream to prevent too much color from sticking to those areas. Nails and palms will also be cleaned after the tanning.
Spray tan shades: At Sugar Bay, we primarily use Lotta Tan spray tanning solutions, available in light, medium, and dark shades. These shades can be mixed together, and the darkness can be increased with extra DHA drops if desired. We also offer an express tanning solution in medium, where the first shower can be taken 4-6 hours after application.
Please note that with express tanning solutions, the development time is the same as with regular solutions; the only difference is that it can be washed off earlier.
The following images show the same shade (Lotta Tan medium) on two different skin types:

Before your spray tan appointment:
- Stop using retinol-based products 2 weeks before your spray tan appointment to avoid patchy results that may not last.
- Start regular exfoliation and moisturizing well in advance. The final exfoliation should be done 24 hours before the tan. Avoid products containing mineral oils (in the ingredient list: Mineral Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum, Petrolatum, Paraffin Oil), alcohol, or perfumes. Remember to exfoliate and moisturize your neck as well.
- Hair removal: Shaving 12 hours before, sugaring/waxing 48 hours before, and laser hair removal 4-5 days before the spray tan.
- Do not apply deodorant or oily products to your skin on the day of the tan after showering. The skin must be clean for the tan to develop properly. Also, do not apply lotion immediately before your appointment.
- Come to the appointment in loose, dark clothing and be prepared to leave without a bra.
After your spray tan:
- The spray tan develops on your skin over 24 hours, and for the first 1-8 hours (depending on the solution and desired intensity), avoid water and skin-to-skin contact. Wear loose, dark clothing.
- The guide color may stain clothes or sheets but will wash out. Soak clothes in cold water and hand wash them with detergent.
- First shower 1-8 hours after tanning (your tanner will give you a more specific time). Take a quick shower with lukewarm water to rinse off the guide color. This shower is only for rinsing the guide color off. For example, if the tan was done in the evening, you can shower the following morning. Pat your skin dry and moisturize.
- Second shower 4-24 hours after the tan. Use soap to wash your skin (avoid Dove products and bar soaps). Get specific timing advice from your tanner. The tan must be washed off within 24 hours to avoid overdeveloping. Don’t forget to moisturize afterward.
- Avoid sauna and heavy sweating in tight clothes for 24 hours.
- Moisturize your skin regularly to keep the tan looking beautiful and to ensure it fades evenly.
- If you’re going on a vacation, we recommend a water-resistant cream sunscreen (not spray sunscreen).
Spray tanning contraindications:
- Wounds
- Skin infections
- Sunburned skin
Pregnancy or breastfeeding is not a contraindication for spray tanning, but the responsibility lies with the client.
Remember that spray tanning does not protect you from the sun, so use sun protection if you’re exposed to the sun.
PRO TIP:
- Before your spray tan appointment, avoid using moisturizing cleansers because they may leave a residue on your skin that can prevent the tan from developing properly. Avoid lotions containing mineral oils (in the ingredient list: Mineral Oil, Paraffinum Liquidum, Petrolatum, Paraffin Oil).
- We do not recommend spray tanning if you have recently lightened your hair, as hair can be porous and the tanning solution may stick to it.
- If you’re doing a trial tan for your wedding, 48 hours after the tan, wear a white shirt and take a selfie with your partner to see how the tan looks in photos.
Exfoliating spray tan: We recommend exfoliating your tan gradually rather than trying to remove it all at once. The best way to remove the tan is after a sauna by exfoliating with an exfoliating mitt, but if sauna is not available, take a long warm shower and wait until your skin is soft before starting to exfoliate. Always moisturize your skin well after exfoliating.
